     Sgt. Arthur E. Soderberg was appointed to the CPD on January 17, 1936, and he retired in 1961 after 25 years of service.

Captain Charles J. Rogers – Cranston Police

Captain Charles J. Rogers

     Captain Charles J. Rogers was appointed to the CPD July 16, 1937.  In 1954, as a sergeant, he was in charge of the Bureau of Records.  He retired a captain.

Chief Daniel A. Kiernan – Cranston Police

 

Chief Daniel Kiernan

      Chief of Police Daniel A. Kiernan passed away suddenly at his home on Cranston Street on September 23, 1932.  He had served as Cranston’s chief from 1912 to 1915.  He also served as a Providence County deputy sheriff for more than 35 years. He was survived by his wife and daughter.  His funeral mass was held at St. Ann’s Church. 

     Rest in peace.  

Lieutenant Clifford D. Ouimette – Cranston Police

     Lieutenant Clifford D. Ouimette was appointed to the Cranston Police Department on November 18, 1927.  He was promoted to sergeant on May 31, 1943.  He was promoted to lieutenant in 1950.

     Sergeant Joseph L. O’ Rourke was appointed to the Cranston Police Department on January 19, 1940.  He was promoted to sergeant in 1950.  He retired in February of 1965 after 25 years of service.

     Patrolman Francis P. Murphy was appointed to the Cranston Police on June 20, 1929.

Chief Clerk Anthony T. Mulligan – Cranston Police

Served as Chief Clerk in the detective division.  Photo taken 1954. 

Sergeant Edward Morgan – Cranston Police

Sgt. Edward Morgan

     Was one of the founders of the International Brotherhood of Police Officers. 

Detective Louis Morenzi – Cranston Police

Det. Louis Morenzi

     Detective Louis Morenzi joined the Cranston Police Department in 1936, and was promoted to detective in 1950.  He retired in February of 1965, and passed away in July of that year.  He’s buried in St. Ann’s Cemetery.
